Four kindergarten classes at the Great Neck Road Elementary School in the Copiague School District enjoyed a day filled with outdoor activities, despite the sweltering heat. The activities included duck-duck goose, softball, and free play on the playground. Teachers provided students with a number of refreshments and goodies, including watermelon, juice, cookies, and even necklaces and sunglasses. According to kindergarten teacher Erica Letts, this fun-filled day serves as an “end-of-the-year celebration of the kindergarteners’ first year together at Great Neck Road, while also allowing the students to meet children outside of their own classroom.”
