Several members of the Walter G. O’Connell Copiague High School DECA Club and Louise Curci’s College & Career class participated in the annual Adelphi Apprentice Competition. The students were grouped with other students from various schools, given a marketing topic, and tasked to create a marketing plan. Once completed, the groups had to present their plans to a panel of judges, with the top three teams chosen to present to the entire conference. High school sophomore Anthony Melek belonged to one of the final top three teams. “Students were able to put their creativity to the test and sharpen their presentation skills while networking with the business department at Adelphi University,” stated Mrs. Curci. “The conference is a great way for our students to put into action the things they are learning in their business classes!”
