Derrick Davis, a 1996 graduate of Copiague High School, recently returned to his alma mater to present an Artist-in-Residence Program to the high school chorus and drama students. During his years at the school, Derrick was actively involved in the theater and choral programs, and returned to perform and speak extensively on his experiences in college, theatre, and the audition process. His hard work and focus has led him to currently hold a leading role in the Las Vegas production of The Lion King. After school, a short question-and-answer session was held, and Mr. Davis worked with students in theatre games and studies.“I think this was a unique and exciting opportunity for our students,” said Jennifer Pierre-Louis, Coordinator of Fine Arts.
