Partnering together to promote character education, members of the Copiague Middle School National Junior Honor Society wrote, directed, and performed six short skits for the kindergarten, first grade, and second-grade students at Great Neck Road Elementary School.
The skits focused on activities and tough moral dilemmas that the younger students could relate to such as cheating on a test, cutting in line, and bullying, and how by using good judgment and showing exceptional character they can make the right decisions. Following each performance, the middle school students hosted a discussion by asking the Great Neck Road students how they would handle themselves if they were faced with that situation.
“We’re excited about our partnership with the middle school and hope to continue it in the future,” said Joseph Agosta, Great Neck Road Principal.
