Thanks to the Copiague School District’s participation in the Reading Is Fundamental (RIF) Program, a national, nonprofit children’s literacy organization students at Deauville Gardens Elementary School were able to expand their home libraries by choosing a free paperback book. Many different types of books were displayed, according to grade and reading level, so the students could choose one that best fit their interest. Books were also available in Spanish for students.
The RIF Program also takes place at Susan E. Wiley and Great Neck Road Elementary Schools.
