Copiague Students Compete, Win

Students at Walter G. O’Connell Copiague High School recently competed in the Distributive Education Club of America (D.E.C.A.) Regional Competition. Competing against high school students from throughout Long Island, Copiague students captured the spotlight in multiple categories, winning 21 first-place trophies. These students now qualify to attend the D.E.C.A. State Competition in March. D.E.C.A. is a national student organization whose program of leadership and personal development is designed specifically for students interested in marketing, management and entrepreneurship. Students won first-place in a multitude of different areas, including accounting, automotive services, public speaking, retail merchandising, and economics.
