Running Hard and Fast

To commemorate Physical Education and Sports Week, the Walter G. O’Connell Copiague High School and Copiague Middle School held their annual pentathlon physical education units. Students in grades 6-10 competed against their classmates in the 50-meter dash, 100-meter dash, 400-meter dash, long jump, and shot put. The winning pentathlon students, one male and one female from each grade, were awarded plaques for their outstanding achievement. High School winners pictured left to right: freshman Khalia Knox, sophomores Aiysha Dunlap and Kalin Walker, freshman Jalen Archibald, and Director of Physical Education and Athletics Peter Cesare. Middle School winners pictured left to right: eighth graders Aaron McFadden and Mikal Knight, seventh graders Isaiah Bland and Hope Williams, and sixth graders Keyrell Wingfield, and Devante Cerizier.
