Grease was the word at Copiague Middle School as Rydel High came to life during the Middle School’s fall production of the hit Broadway and movie musical. The students performed four shows of the popular musical following three months of rehearsals, set building, and costume designing. Grease is a tale of teenage rebellion, love, and friendship, set in the 1950s. The musical, which was presented by the Fine and Performing Arts Department, is based on the stage musical created by Jim Jacobs and Warren Casey and was directed by Marc Levenson. The production included support from Choreographer Sylvia Walsh, Costumer Jessica Sneider, Scenic Designer Lauren Lefkowitz, and Producer Jennifer E. Pierre-Louis. Additionally, student-interns from the Walter G. O’Connell Copiague High School assisted behind the scenes.
