Theater Department members at the Walter G. O’Connell Copiague High School in the Copiague School District were recently honored by the Babylon Citizens Council on the Arts (BACCA) for their spring theater production of West Side Story. At the Teen Youth Theatre Awards (TOBY Awards), sponsored by BACCA, the production received the following awards from BACCA: Best Female Vocal – Dilara Altuner (Maria), Best Male Vocal – Matt Edlind (Tony), Best Ensemble, Best Dance, and the top honor of Outstanding Musical.
BACCA is a nonprofit arts organization serving the needs of residents, artists, and art organizations in the Town of Babylon.
