Prior to the June 3 Copiague Board of Education meeting, the Board held a special reception to honor retiring staff members and administrators and teachers who received tenured. “This is one of my favorite nights of the year, as we take the time to recognize and congratulate our retiring and tenured staff,” said Superintendent of Schools Charles A. Leunig.
To begin the ceremony, each building principal spoke a few words of praise over each newly tenured staff member, with Mr. Leunig congratulating the two principals who received tenure. The District congratulates the following staff members for being granted tenure:

Following the tenure ceremony, the Board and administration honored 323 years of dedicated service to the Copiague schools. Each retiring staff member was presented with a plaque and letter of commendation from Gov. Andrew Cuomo. The District congratulates and offers best wishes to the following retiring staff members:
