On Sunday, June 3, members of the Walter G. O’Connell Copiague High School Hip Hop Club had the opportunity to provide the entertainment for the New York City Hemophilia Chapter’s seventh annual 5K benefit walk at Manhattan’s Riverside Park. The club performed their original compositions in front of more than 1,000 people. “It was truly amazing to see our kids working hand in hand, to make this a memorable event for sick children,” stated advisor Yvan Garcia. “Not only did they perform, but our students were also able to get the entire place dancing, singing and having an all-around great time.”
To round out the day, the Hip Hop Club participated in the 5K walk to raise awareness for the disease of hemophilia.
