With her eye behind the lens and her camera focused on her friend’s puppy, Julia Woelk, a junior at Walter G. O’Connell Copiague High School, became the winner of New York State Sen. Charles J. Fuschillo Jr.’s First Annual Amazing Animal Photo Contest. To congratulate Julia for her first-place finish, award her with a New York State Senate Blue Ribbon Commendation and thank the whole class for their entries, Sen. Fuschillo visited Lorraine Ciccotto’s digital photography class on April 19. In addition to Julia’s first-place win, senior Christopher Falci was awarded an honorable mention for his photo entry.
The photo contest was open to all high school students in Sen. Fuschillo’s district, which runs from Baldwin to Lindenhurst.
