The Copiague School District congratulates Walter G. O’Connell Copiague High School valedictorian Robert Gioia and salutatorian John Romano, each of whom received a $2,000 scholarship from the Association of Suffolk Supervisors for Educational Technology. Robert and John were honored at a ceremony held at Captain Bill’s in Bay Shore where, in addition to their scholarships, they were each given an Apple iPad. “The accomplishments and aspirations of these students are incredible,” remarked Copiague’s Director of Technology Todd Harris.
ASSET awards these scholarships annually to students who have contributed to their schools and communities and who plan to use technology in their post-high school careers in meaningful ways.
