In honor of Veterans Day, the students and staff at Great Neck Road Elementary School in the Copiague School District hosted a Veterans Day Breakfast Celebration. Invited to attend the celebration were members of the local V.F.W. and relatives of students who have served or are currently serving in the Armed Forces.
During the program, attendees were treated to a rousing performance by the school band, directed by Melvin Smith, a patriotic sing-along by the kindergarteners, a PTA-sponsored laser light show, and a breakfast provided by staff members. “Today, the staff and students of the Great Neck Road Elementary School are proud to honor the members of the United States Armed Forces,” said Principal Joseph Agosta.
The veterans also enjoyed a movie presentation featuring photos and information about the servicemen and women, which was created by Barbara Kulikowska, Great Neck Road’s Library Media Specialist.
