With their new school supplies ready, backpacks and lunchboxes packed, and first day of school outfits picked out and ready for show, students in the Copiague School District were set for a new school year. Adding to the excitement this year was the opening of the district’s newest elementary schools – Deauville Gardens East and Deauville Gardens West – replacing Deauville Gardens Elementary School. Following weeks of preparation by administrators, teachers and custodial and secretarial staff, the two new schools were spotless and ready for their new crop of students.
