For the second consecutive year, students in the District are flush with new notebooks, backpacks, lunch boxes and other school supplies thanks to a donation from the United Way and Make It Count organizations. Coordinated between Copiague Middle School Principal Andrew Lagnado, Builders Club advisor Maria Ostrofsky and retired Copiague teacher Walter Reese, members of the Builders Club unloaded a full-size school bus filled with the supplies outside of the district offices. The members of the club also organized the boxes and filled backpacks with the donated supplies. The filled backpacks were donated to students within the six district schools.“We’re very excited about this donation of school supplies,” said Mr. Lagnado. “We are very grateful to United Way and the Make It Count Foundation for their generosity.”
