Under the guidance of adviser Louise Curci, members of the Walter G. O’Connell Copiague High School Distributive Education Clubs of America represented the District in the State Career Conference held in Rochester, N.Y. The Copiague chapter of DECA won three first-place trophies, three second-place trophies and nine gold medals.“Our students represented Copiague enthusiastically, with the utmost professionalism, leadership and dedication,” remarked Mrs. Curci. The district congratulates the following students: Tatyana Bellamy-Walker: First place, Extemporaneous Public Speaking, and gold medal Isabel Colon: First place, Wholesale Selling, and gold medal Abigail Trautwig: First place, Visual Advertising, and gold medal Allie Altruda: Second place, Decision-making - Marketing Human Resources, and gold medal Katarina Junge: Second place, Broadcast Advertising, and gold medal Joylin Santos: Second place, Visual Advertising, and gold medal Zoreia Cuffy: Gold medal, Public Speaking Prepared Sasha McKenzie: Gold medal, Public Speaking Ashley Simon: Gold medal, Extemporaneous Public Speaking
